【Legacy filename extension support discontinues】 December.10, 2023
T-4OO’s file translation system discontinued supporting documents with certain MS legacy filename extensions
[.doc / .xls / .ppt] on Dec. 10, 2023.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
* The extensions, [.docx/.xlsx/.pptx], of Office2007 or later will be supported as before.
* Should you be in need of translating a file with any of those legacy extensions,
[ .doc / .xls / .ppt] after the maintenance work, Click [File]＞[Save as]＞
choose any one of the filename extensions, [.docx / .xlsx /.pptx], before pressing
[Save] to make the subjected document uploadable to T-4OO.
【Remaining word count check function released】 Updated on Nov, 10. 2023
Remaining total word count status of a client organization can be displayed on the user screen by its company ID.
No site closure is scheduled for this modification.
≪Applied to≫ Users of a client organization agreed to use T-4OO with annual upper limit.
※ [Display] of remaining word count is a default setting for all the client organizations with annual upper limit.
Those who do not want this information to be displayed on its user screen, please change the setting on the administrator menu screen.
※ This function is not applicable to Lite or Pay-as-you-go client organizations.

【New function release】 August 11, 2023
"Generative AI Translation", a new engine utilizing GTP technologies, released
The “Generative AI Translation” tries to interpret the meaning of each sentence by referring to other sentences, paragraphs,
and the whole passage of the original document in the process of its translation. NMT-based translation engines utilizing deep-learning technologies
(currently mainstream) are suitable for translations requesting more literal and direct renditions.
T-4OO, which now offers translation engines of the 2 different types, can meet different translation needs
(literal translations or nonliteral and rather creative) in an even more effective way with a higher precision.
≪Important≫
・An external API (OpenAI) needs to be utilized for using the “Generative AI Translation”.
Check to see if your organization allows you to use external APIs.
・The “Generative AI Translation” is not available for [Lite] or [Desktop Translation].

The upper limit of word count for uploading per translation has been changed.
Scope of change：Original text uploading for translations
on T-4OO Standard UI and Simple UI menu screens (used on your browser)
Current limit） English： up to 36,000 words / Chinese： up to 36,000 characters
/ Japanese： up to 72,000 characters
After change） English： up to 100,000 words / Chinese： up to 100,000 characters
/ Japanese： up to 200,000 characters
※[Lite] and [Desktop Tool] are out of the scope (the upper limit to remain the same)
※Total data capacity up-loadable to remain the same at 100MB
※Should you get [Time out] error message while uploading an original text file,
you need to divide the file and retry.
【External API (SOGOU) to be decommissioned】 Novenber 6, 2022
Please be advised that SOGOU translation engine,
an external API partially used for T-4OO’s translation between Japanese and Chinese,
is decommissioned as of November 6th, 2022,
due to discontinuation of the service at SOGOU.
From November 7th, 2022 onward, translations between Japanese and Chinese
will be carried out using the other translation engines of T-4OO.
※When you individually set a translation engine …
You will no longer see [SOGOU] option in [Selection of Translation Engines] chart
on T-4OO Administrator Menu screen.
No additional setting is required as there will be no other change
than decommissioning SOGOU.

against further editing attempted by any other group managers or users.

【Internet Explorer Support Discontinuation】 June 19, 2022
T-4OO stopped supporting Internet Explore as of June 16, 2022 as Microsoft had discontinued its support for Internet Explorer 11 （ IE11）.
It is recommended that IE users shift to another T-4OO certified browser in a timely manner.

- Simplified UI to be released
A new UI is soon to be available.
It has simplified menu screens for the “Automatic Translation” and “Translation History” fields.
File drag-and-drop uploading function on any recommended browsers, a long-awaited feature, will also be available in the simplified UI.
【File Translation】
- You can upload more than one source text file at the same time.
- You can do so by dragging and dropping them as well.
- You can immediately start translation without having to "Go to Confirmation Page".
【Text Translation】
- Your translation process will complete on the same screen from entering source texts thru displaying the translation result.
* You can keep using the T4OO with its fully-specified translation and all the other high-end functions including pre/post-edit functions in the current UI.
* In the simplified UI, you cannot edit source texts either before or after translation (for partial retranslation purpose), choose a specific “Translation Style”, or use any of your Glossary/TM Category.

Please be advised that files with the extension of “.doc”, “.xls”, or “.ppt”, none of which is supported by Microsoft Office 2003 anymore,
will become out of scope of translation with T-4OO Desktop tool as of September 27th.

Currently: feed an original document, then go to "Confirmation Page" and set options on that screen
After the modifications: when feeding an original document, now you can set options in "Select Other Options" section on that screen
Options in "Select Other Options" are;
- Give the document an intelligible title
- Set nighttime (after 23:00) processing
- Receive an email notification when the translation is done

【Security level enhancement】 July 2, 2020
T-4OO’s password policy will be revised as follows for security enhancement.
■Date of change: To be effective as at 19:00, Friday July 10, 2020
■Applicable to: Applicable to : Password of T-4OO’s “Admin” Administrator, Group Administrator, and User.
■Nature of change:
(Current) must be at least 6 (or 8) alphanumeric characters (single-byte)
(New) must be between 6 (or 8) and 20 characters, consisting of at least one single-byte alphabetical uppercase, lower case, and numerical letter respectively - symbol(s) can be used as well (recommended).
* This change will be applied when resetting passwords after July 11.

"Desk Top Drop Folder (DDF)" released
"DDF" is an intuitive tool that allows you to drop down a folder of documents subject to machine translation on your desktop – the machine translation results (in a file format) will be automatically downloaded. Please ask your T-4OO Administrator for this tool as it is downloadable from T-4OO’s Administrator menu.
*The "DDF" tool is available F.O.C. Translations done using this tool are subject to word consumption count or Pay-as-you-go-based charge according to your contract.

【New function release】 June 17, 2020
Degree of mandatory use of terms registered in "Glossary" becomes adjustable
When you check the "Forcibly apply glossary terms" box, you can temporarily disable T-4OO’s function of not using certain registered terms in certain combinations with other words designed for preventing an incidental mistranslation. As a result, you can forcibly apply the desired terms just as registered to the target text on any conditions.
This may cause problems in automatic translation. Please select this option after careful consideration.

"Advanced Edit Function" in the "Translation Edit Page" becomes selectable
You can change the setting of the "Advanced Edit Function" to "ON" or "OFF" before starting translations (the default setting is "OFF") - this is to heighten the stability of the server by detouring a heavy data processing at the point of translation.

Password resetting function added
If you fail to adequately log into the T-4OO for certain times in a row, your password will be invalidated, and a password resetting will be required.
When your password is invalidated, please reset it through instructions shown when clicking the URL in an email sent to your registered email account.
